First Announcement and Invitation
An Evening of Gratitude and Appreciation
Celebrating the Career and Contributions of Prof John Chappell

After almost 40 years of academic contribution at ANU, Prof John 
Chappell retired at the end of 2007 and is in the throes of 
relocating 'Across the Ditch'.  John's contribution to our 
discipline, and indeed our lives, as teacher, mentor and friend is 
widely noted but it feels more appropriate to acknowledge this 
directly during a special evening of gratitude and appreciation.

As such, we are planning to hold an event in Canberra on the evening 
of Friday, June 20. The venue for the evening has a limited capacity, 
so a"first in best dressed principle" will have to be used to 
allocate tickets for the occasion.
