Hi all,
With apologies for cross-posting...
ARCNESS is holding a winter school on Earth System Modelling: Methods and
Applications. The school will take place at the University of New South
Wales in Sydney from 7-11 September 2009.
The mornings will be devoted to presentations from leading Australian
earth system modellers, while the afternoons will be devoted to hands-on
training. This will consist of a half-day course on using the NCI National
Facility (the national high-performance computing facility in Canberra),
and a 1.5-day course on using the CSIRO Mk3L climate system model (a fast
global climate model that is particularly suitable for palaeoclimate
simulations).
The full program is available from here:
http://arcness.mq.edu.au/fileadmin/general/docs/1_-_2009_winter_school_program.pdf
There is a strong focus upon palaeoclimate, and members of the
palaeoclimate community may therefore find the winter school to be
particularly benefical.
If you wish to attend, please contact Anne Micallef
<amicalle at els.mq.edu.au> to express interest and we will confirm as
quickly as we can.
Some financial support will be available for interstate participants.
Priority will be given to PhD students, Honours students, and Early
Career Researchers.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who you think might be
interested.
Cheers,
Steven Phipps
