Dear all,
I wish to draw your attention to the inter-congress meeting of the
INQUA International Focus Group on Tephrochronology and Volcanism
(INTAV) in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, South Kyushu, JAPAN,
May 10-17, 2010. This international field conference and workshop
maintains the long tradition of very successful inter-INQUA tephra
meetings held previously by SCOTAV in the USA, New Zealand, France
and Canada over the past 18 years. The next inter-congress meeting,
entitled "Active Tephra in Kyushu, 2010" facilitates not only an
opportunity for the presentation and discussion of the latest
advances in tephra studies, but also provides an exceptional insight
into the interactive history of volcanism, human activity and
palaeoenvironment, and Kyushu Island with its long history and active
volcanism is an ideal location for this purpose.
Further details are available on the 1st circular at
<http://www.ris.ac.jp/intav-jp/index.html>http://www.ris.ac.jp/intav-jp/index.html
Those interested in attending the meeting are kindly asked to fill in
the 1st circular reply form and return it to the conference chairman
via email (tfukuoka at ris.ac.jp), fax (+81-48-539-1640), or airmail to:
