Apologies.

the attachment appears not to be coming through, so see for further
details below:

OZ INTIMATE WORKSHOP
Meeting: 16-17th December
The purpose of INTIMATE is to gain a better understanding of
'geologically recent' climate changes, particularly during the Last Ice
Age (Glaciation) and the world-wide transition from ice age climates to
the present 'interglacial' climate. The aim of OZ-INTIMATE is to develop
an Australian climate event stratigraphy (CES) for the period 30-0 ka BP
to allow comparison with records from different regions (e.g. New
Zealand, Antarctic, and North Atlantic).

We have selected a collection of key researchers, who can represent the
various broad climatic zones of Australia, including terrestrial and
marine records, and those with overarching interests in the time period
in question (see below for participant list). The objective of this
workshop is to flesh-out a CES for Australia, noting regional and
temporal variability. It is expected that participants will bring along
the most robust records from their region, to be discussed with
reference to skeleton CES’s, based on the compilations by Turney et al.,
2006a,b and Williams et al., 2009.

We are now inviting the broader Quaternary community via AQUA-list to
contribute records to the regional contact people for consideration. The
criteria to be followed are robust chronology, representative records
and where possible, quantitative as well as qualitative data. These will
initially be compiled into a poster presentation, available to the
broader Quaternary community for comment, and then a written publication
(e.g. JQS). Depending on the degree of contribution, either
co-authorship or full acknowledgement will be given.

Regional contacts:
Leanne Armand (larmand at science.mq.edu.au) Southern Ocean
Kat Fitzsimmons (Kathryn.Fitzsimmons at anu.edu.au) Arid interior
Ian Goodwin (ian.goodwin at mq.edu.au) Temperate marine
Michael Griffiths (Michael.Griffiths at newcastle.edu.au) Tropical
terrestrial
Will Howard (whoward at postoffice.utas.edu.au) Antarctic
Helen McGregor (mcgregor at uow.edu.au) Tropical marine
Lynda Petherick (l.petherick at uq.edu.au)
			Temperate terrestrial
Steven Phipps (s.phipps at unsw.edu.au) Climate
modelling
We would ask that contact be made with the relevant group leaders by
Tuesday 1st December, should you wish to be involved. Your participation
is actively encouraged and will ensure the most rigorous and
representative CES is constructed.

Should you have further queries, do not hesitate to contact us.
