The Institute of Applied Geology, BOKU University Vienna invites
applications for a PhD position in the general areas of earth sciences
and geochronology (http://www.baunat.boku.ac.at/15208.html). The
successful candidate will apply field methods and different luminescence
techniques for establishing a chronostratigraphy of glaciofluvial
terraces in the northern Alpine Foreland. The temporal focus lies in the
later part of the Middle Pleistocene (300-130 ka) - a period for which
the chronology of ice extent and fluvial dynamics in the study area is
poorly known.

Candidates are encouraged to submit their application to Johanna Lomax
<johanna.lomax at boku.ac.at> until 31 January 2011. The following
documents are requested:
- letter of motivation
- cv (2 pages maximum)
