[Aqualist] Stratified lakes in NSW

Greetings all,

I realise that the Aqua in the list name is not a reference to wet stuff, but given the role of lakes in geomorphology and landscape evolution, list members may be able to help with this request (and apologies for cross-posting)

Amy Chen, a PhD candidate at Macquarie University is studying magnetic bacteria that
apparently love stratified lakes. The site needs to have a stratified
dissolved oxygen water column (for at least a few months in a year).
Ideally, there should also be hydrogen sulphide from sulphate reducing
bacteria near the sediment-water interface.

If anyone knows of any lakes (big or small) that fit these criteria, or has any other
suggests (people to contact etc.) please contact Amy direct: amy.chen at mq.edu.au

Many thanks,

John
