Dear all,
As the deadline for AGU abstract submissions fast approaches, please consider submitting an abstract to the following session:
PP024. Taking the Temperature of the Quaternary
Session Abstract:
The recovery of accurate palaeotemperature records is vital in understanding the full variability of natural climate change and providing data to future models. Recent proxy techniques include clumped isotopes, fluid inclusion chemistry, and microbial biomarkers. This session focuses on the production of temperature records for the Quaternary, and particularly encourages submissions using newly developed techniques as well as novel applications of existing approaches. We also encourage abstracts that adopt a multi-proxy approach combining both organic and inorganic chemistry, and studies that focus on the mechanisms of proxy preservation, their response to temperature and signal modification, aimed at developing more robust palaeothermometry.
Invited Speaker: Rosanne D'Arrigo (Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University)
We are particularly keen for this session to emphasise the importance of multi-disciplinary and multi-archive work, including all existing and novel proxy archives, documentary records, and climate models.
Abstract submission deadline: August 8th
All the best and see some of you in San Fran,
