Dear Quaternarists,
Our group is in the process of purchasing a new gamma-spectrometry system , which will be capable of measuring small sediment samples ( 2-10 grams) for Pb-210 and Cs-137.
The manufacturer is willing to give us a 50% discount on the original $112K.
So-far we have formed a consortium with UWA (P. Grierson) and University of Ballarat (P. Gell) , who are willing to put $10K and $15K. ANSTO is committed to put in $22K .
We are looking for a couple of partner Universities to make up the remaining $8K. The contribution will be credited back as sample analysis time within two years after purchase.
ANSTO will remain the owner of the facility and will pick up the bill for running this facility and make it available to AINSE users.
Kind regards
Henk Heijnis
