Dear Colleagues,
Abstract submission for the '12th Australasian Environmental Isotope Conference', UWA, 10-12th July 2013, is now open.
Major science themes for this conference are:
1. Terrestrial and aquatic stable isotope ecology - food webs, physiology, migration and diet, plant physiology, ecosystem changes, biocycles, soil science
2. Isotopes in global change science - palaeoenvironmental and palaeoclimate reconstructions
3. Applied geochronology in environmental studies - dating records of environmental changes, geoarchaeology
4. Isotopes in hydrology and hydrogeology - aquatic ecology, ecosystems, surface water - groundwater interaction
5. Frontiers and advances in isotope techniques (special session in memory of John de Leater) - novel techniques, procedures, protocols, instrumentation and applications
Invited speakers:
Prof Malcolm McCulloch (UWA) 'Isotope Tracing of the Impacts of Ocean Acification on Biogenic Calcification'
Prof Kliti Grice (Curtin University) 'Consistent Change in Biomarkers (Microbes and Flora) and Stable Isotopes across the Major Extinction Events of Our Planet'
Dr Quan Hua (ANSTO) 'Radiocarbon Applications in Earth and Environmental Sciences'
Dr Andy Revill (CSIRO) 'Compound Specific Stable Isotopes as a Tool for Understanding Marine Biogeochemical Processes and Ecological Interactions'
Dr Colin Smith (Latrobe University) 'LC-IRMS of Amino Acids and Archaeological Application'
Dr Paulo Vasconcelos (UQ) 'Geochronology and Palaeoclimates'
Abstract deadline: 10th May 2013
