Quaternary Techniques Short Course, Lower Hutt, New Zealand

GNS Science is holding its Tenth annual Quaternary Techniques short course
- Measuring change and reconstructing past environments, on Thursday and
Friday, 16-17 May 2013. We are accepting registrations up until May 10.

This course is intended for students and researchers in all areas of earth
and environmental sciences who may wish to have a good general
introduction into the various techniques used to measure and reconstruct
past environments. This course is not intended to duplicate university
classes, but to offer a concentrated two day workshop in specialised
techniques presented by experts in their own fields of research. As
described in the December 2012 issue of Quaternary Australasia, the
course consists of a mix of lectures and lab tours show casing a diverse
range of isotope, geological and geochemical paleoenvironmental
reconstruction and chronological techniques, as well as lab
demonstrations.

As in previous years, we are trying to keep the workshop affordable for
everyone, especially students, so the registration fee is still only
NZ$100 for students (or NZ$180 for others) for the two day workshop. This
price will include morning and afternoon teas, lunches, dinner, and a
handbook of course materials.

The registration form and further information can be found on the QT Short
Course web page: http://www.gns.cri.nz/qtshortcourse

Thank you very much,
Chris Prior
