Using marine sediment cores to assess ice-ocean feedbacks associated with rapid melting of the Antarctic ice sheet
As part of the Antarctic Gateway Partnership<http://www.imas.utas.edu.au/antarctic-gateway-partnership>, we have an opening for a PhD project to apply multi-proxy geochemical and sedimentological methods to understand the feedbacks between ocean circulation and the melting history of the Antarctic ice sheet in the region of the Mertz glacier. The ideal candidate will have a first class honours degree or equivalent in geology, chemistry, oceanography or a closely related field. Experience with geochemical analysis and paleoceanography are highly desirable. More information about the project is available here: http://www.imas.utas.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/716795/Chase_Gateway_PhD_Learn_More.pdf
