Dear Quaternarists,
With the retirement of Kathryn Fitzsimmons as editor of Quaternary
Australasia this year, a new co-editor for this esteemed publication is
needed. This is a fantastic chance to get experience in editing a journal
and making a mark on how Australasian Quaternary science is viewed and
remembered. Please get in touch by email if you are interested or would
like to know more about the role (please contact us at editor at aqua.org.au).
No previous experience in editing is needed. The role involves close
teamwork with the co-editor (presently Pia Atahan) regarding content,
soliciting contributions such as conference reports, opinion pieces, and
thesis abstracts, facilitating the peer review process for research
articles, proof reading and liaison with graphic designers and printers.
You will also sit on the AQUA Executive Committee.
Support will be provided by the current co-editor Pia Atahan, who will
continue to share the role. Mentoring will be available from Kathryn
Fitzsimmons during the settling in period.
Yours quaternarily,
Pia Atahan and Kathryn Fitzsimmons
Co-Editors, Quaternary Australasia
