LANCEFIELD REVISITED

The
Lancefield Megafauna Festival is coinciding with the Lancefield
Show 18/10/2015 and farmers market 25/10/15.

The
festival is a celebration of significant palaeontological and archaeological
findings in Lancefield since the 1800’s. Excavations by the Melbourne Museum
and various Universities have produced megafaunal bones dated at anywhere
between up to 60,000 years bp.

There will be a discussion
panel featuring Joe Dortch (Uni WA), Richard Gillespie (Uni
Wollongong), Sanja van Huet (Deakin Uni) and local megafauna enthusiast, Syd
Green.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED @ LANCEFIELD
SWAMP?

Tuesday 20 October, 7-9pm at the Lancefield Mechanics Institute.

There
are also many family style events scheduled for the week including a Museum Victoria Megafauna display, a fossil road
show, film screenings, creation and display of Megafauna-related artworks,
Megafauna performances, a "Bird Week & Megafauna" talk by Sean
Dooley and much more.
