Dear AQUA members,

AQUA 2018 abstract submissions are now open http://aqua.org.au/conference/aqua2018/abstract-submission/ Abstract submission will be open until 26th October 2018. Rather than arrange ‘sessions’ accepted papers will be arranged thematically. We have designed several formats for presenting research at the conference: a traditional poster session, 3-minute talks in front of a poster (specifically designed to introduce new students or to communicate new research), long talks (30 mins; morning and after lunch sessions) and short talks (of 20 minutes each, in the session between morning tea and lunch).

Conference registration is also now open http://aqua.org.au/conference/aqua2018/registration/ Registration cost include morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea each day of the conference, the mid conference field trip (Wednesday 12th), beer & pizza poster sessions and icebreaker!

Full price (member) - $350

Full price (non-member) - $400

Student/concession (member) - $250

Student/concession (non-member) - $285

Current non-members can sign up or renew their AQUA membership to receive discounted registration costs https://www.regonline.com.au/register/checkin.aspx?EventId=975854&MethodId=0&EventSessionId=&startnewreg=1

The 2018 AQUA biennial meeting will be held from Monday 10th to Friday 14th December in the Crawford Precinct on the Acton Peninsula, overlooking Lake Burley Griffin, in Canberra ACT.

A pre-conference field trip (High altitude environments of eastern Australia) is currently being organised for December 5th to the 8th.

The Australasian Quaternary Association is committed to the support of students, early career researchers and for those who are not currently in full-time employment. Additional financial support and travel awards to attend the 2018 Biennial Conference for these groups will be advertised in the coming weeks.

The Biennial Conference aims to bring together scientists, academics, researchers and scholars in the field of Quaternary science from across Australasia. The meeting is the premier interdisciplinary platform for the presentation of new science and research results in all matters associated with the Quaternary.
