[Aqualist] Call to action for an anti-racist science community

Dear all,

A letter recently came out from the US to call for a more equitable scientific community. While this is very much US-centric, I strongly encourage you to sign the letter, as fighting for people's rights has no border: https://notimeforsilence.org/

I would like to call on to AQUA's Pres and VP (sorry to put you on the spot, folks! :)) to have a discussion about developing an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion policy in AQUA (perhaps it already exists?).
Policies aren't the magic answer but they give a framework to take concrete action. (I will also approach other prof societies like ANZGG and GSA)

We should consider producing a similar letter relevant to the Australian community. If this is something of interest to you, feel free to get in touch with me directly.
