[Aqualist] AQUA mentoring program - EOI

Dear AQUA members,

Following some valuable discussion at AQUA Online this year, which has
continued amongst the AQUA Executive, we are hoping to launch a mentoring
program next year. There are several motivations behind this move: to
continue the inroads that have already been made at increasing the level of
collegiality in the quaternary community; to support upcoming scholars; and
to support MCRs as they progress into senior positions. We hope that these
moves will also help to increase equity and diversity of all kinds and at
all levels within the community.

Part of this process is gauging interest. If you are a PhD student, ECR, or
MCR interested in becoming a mentee, please email
micheline.campbell at unsw.edu.au to express your interest. Equally, if you
are an MCR or senior researcher interested in becoming a mentor, please
email as above to express your interest. When emailing please provide your
career stage and whether you’d like to be a mentor, a mentee, or both! The
list will be confidential, and the deadline for the EOI is *Monday 18th
October. *

This is not an official launch of the program, we are only looking to see
what numbers could be like. We will be seeking formal applications later in
the year, with hopes of launching the year-long program in early 2022.
