And here's a cheap and simple method for splitting cores in the lab or field, attached for consideration

    I was wondering please if anyone has plans, designs, diagrams and, or, photos of devices for cutting lake sediment cores lengthways that they would be willing to share?   I have some colleagues in Queensland Government who are aiming to build one of their own.

    They need to cut pipes of a max length of 1.5 m, of variable diameter (50 mm to ~ 85 mm) and variable thickness of pipe wall (up to 5 mm).
