[Aqualist] Passing of Lynda Petherick

Dear colleagues,

It is with enormous sadness that I write to let you know that AQUA president’s, Dr Lynda Petherick, passed away late last week.

A funeral service is being held for her this Saturday 11 am (NZ time) at Harvey Bowler Funeral Services in Levin, New Zealand.  Lynda’s mother, Barbara, has passed on a message that anyone who wishes to join remotely can request the link by emailing: bpetherick60 at gmail.com

The AQUA committee have had preliminary discussions about appropriate ways to commemorate Lynda. We will be sending flowers to the funeral (or other form of donation as requested by the family). We will also plan a memorial for Lynda at the AQUA conference in December and will invite Lynda’s parents to attend remotely. Please, of course, get in contact if you have other suggestions.

I am afraid that the above details are all I know, except to say that it was a great privilege working with Lynda who was liked and admired by so many.  Lynda was a shining light in the community and there has been an enormous outpouring of emotion in response to her passing.
