[Aqualist] AQUA mentoring program 2022 wrap-up

Dear AQUA Members,



Our inaugural AQUA mentoring program has drawn to a close at the end of
2022. The program commenced in May 2022 and dozens of members participated
as mentors and/or mentees across all career stages. We want to sincerely
thank all of those who have taken part and contributed to the program. We
trust that the program was valuable to both mentees and mentors and has
helped the development of professional relationships and collegiality
amongst the Australasian Quaternary community.



Due to the success of the mentoring program we intend to continue running
on a biennial basis, coinciding with years of the AQUA conferences (thereby
providing the opportunity for mentors and mentees to meet in person if they
are from different locations). Our reasoning for the biennial program is to
ensure we are welcoming new and junior members for whom the program may be
particularly beneficial, whilst acknowledging that an annual program is
likely too frequent for the size of the AQUA community.



We ask that you continue to share AQUA events and information with your
broader networks and encourage students and ECRs to consider joining our
wonderful community.
