Dear INQUA goers...

This is just a brief message to say that the is a national train strike planned in Italy on Thurs 13th July. The conference organisers have posted about it on Twitter but are yet (?) to communicate via email.

There are some details here but the strike is very severe:

https://www.themayor.eu/en/a/view/italian-strikes-that-can-affect-your-travel-plans-in-july-11955#:~:text=On%20Tuesday%2C%2013%20July%2C%20staff,also%20vary%20according%20to%20region.

The conference organisers suggest booking buses from the airport in advance. We are coming from Milan on the 13th and are now driving instead of getting the train. Joy.

AQUA dinner

The AQUA dinner will be on Friday 14 July at 20:00.

I added all the people who expressed interest (via my original survey) and others have signed up. Can you please let me know if you are not coming since there is a waitlist?

You can check whether you are on the list/add your name here:

The restaurant is this one...

Neapolitan restaurant, specialising in pizza, fish and buffalo mozzarella - vegan and gf options available. Menu is only in italian but it is online and can be run through translate.

Thanks so much to Kat for helping arrange it.

For keeping in touch there is a WhatsApp group. I've posted a QR code to join in the AQUA Facebook group. Any member can add others, so please spread the word.

See you in Roma (hopefully)
With best wishes,
John.

PS: I'll be out of touch variously over the next few days.
