This fantastic opportunity to undertake a funded PhD on this exciting multidisciplinary project is open for a few more weeks! This research project would suit someone with a background in hydrology, geography and environmental sciences and an interest in combining Indigenous knowledge and western science. The successful candidate will work with Aboriginal knowledge holders to understand the hydrology across the Western Desert study area in the Pilbara. This project will use satellite imagery and ground truthing (using hydrogeochemical and isotopic approaches) to better understand human occupation through tens of thousands of years.
The project is part of the Desert to the Sea: Managing Rock Art, Culture and Country ARC Linkage project. Interested parties should contact Sarah Bourke and Jo McDonald at UWA.
