Dear members,
After 25 years, the current form of AQUAlist (where this email is coming from) will be retired after the upcoming biennial meeting in Sydney.
AQUAlist runs on Mailman and the version we use that is hosted at the ANU has not been updated in 14 years, and ANU have indicated they intend to discontinue hosting.
The version we use is not compatible with modern security systems at universities and there have been some reports of messages not making it through firewalls.
AQUA does have a social media presence, but email remains the most universal way of contacting all members in a timely fashion outside Quaternary Australasia.
AQUAlist has accumulated 939 subscribers but a look at the email list reveals a large number of email addresses that are defunct, mostly for people who have moved institutions and not re-subscribed.
AQUAlist will migrate onto Groups.io which offers a modern version of a list server which some extra features.
If you receive this message, or if you have been a member of AQUA in the last 5 years, you will be invited to join. The link will expire within 2 weeks.
You will need to accept the invitation to become a subscriber and continue to receive messages from AQUA.
Regards,
Tim
AQUA President
