[Ascp-news] ASCP Events Grants - Call for EOIs

Dear all,

The ASCP would like to encourage members to organise events that promote
Continental Philosophy in Australasia outside of and beyond the annual ASCP
Conference. To this end, the Society has developed a small grant scheme to
help offset the costs of hosting such events.

There will be two rounds of this scheme each year, with calls for EOIs
going out in April and September. The scheme will provide up to $1000 in
total each round to successful applicants. Expenditures will be restricted
to things like: travel and accommodation for invited speakers, hiring of
venues, reasonable catering, and advertising and promotion.

must be current members of the ASCP.*

EOIs should consist of an approximately 500-word proposal, which must
include:

   - Names, contact emails, and short biographies of the organisers;
   - A description of the planned event, any proposed speakers, its
   significance to Continental Philosophy in Australasia and to the ASCP, and
   how event planning will address equity, diversity and inclusion principles;
   - A detailed budget explaining how the funds will be used and setting
   out any non-ASCP funding for the event (whether proposed or already
   secured).


EOIs for the inaugural round are *due by close of business on the 15th of
October*. Please send your proposal to secretary at ascp.org.au.

The EOIs will be evaluated by the ASCP Executive Committee and applicants
will be notified of their decision within four weeks of applying.

The primary intention of these grants is to foster the proliferation of
Continental Philosophy by supporting events organised by or featuring
precariously employed scholars, scholars from underrepresented groups, and
regional scholars. To this end, priority will be given to events that do
not have significant institutional or university funding, and that strongly
align with this core objective.

Events that receive funding should acknowledge the ASCP in any promotional
materials.

The ASCP reserves the right not to award a grant in any given round.
