Dear Friends
The Timor Leste Studies Lunch originally scheduled for this Wednesday 18
July has had to be postponed to Wednesday 25 July. It will still take place
at The Gods at ANU between 12-2. Please let me know by Monday 23 July if you
are able to attend.
Anita Ximenes, Modesto Lopes and Marcelino de Jesus are recent UNTL
graduates in the field of SOSEK (socio-economics of agriculture).
They have been working in the 'Seeds of Life' program in the Ministry
of Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries for 18 months. Seeds of Life is a
program to increase staple food production among subsistence farmers
in Timor Leste, and is funded by Australian Centre for International
Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and Ausaid.
The group will spend time in Canberra as part of a
study tour. They will visit local small-scale growers who are both organic
and commercial, local farmers' markets, and ANU-based social researchers
working in Timor, or doing research with farmers.
I hope you can join us at:
GODS' CAFE
