[TimorLesteStudies] Timor/Australian/Indonesian artist Exhibition- Canberra 7 August

Timorese artist, Osme Gonsalves worked in collaboration with The Culture Kitchen  (Julian Laffan, Bernie Slater, Jon Priadi and Angie Bexley) and Indonesian artist, Deni Pancatriana to produce a lino print (3*1.8 metres) responding to the lives, experiences and histories of Australians, Indonesians and Timorese and the ways in which people are able to rebuild relationships within their own countries and across borders.

The work will be launched in the following exhibition

                 5.30 School of Art Gallery ANU opened by Dr Debjani Ganguly, Head of the Humanities Research Centre (Artists: Tushar Joag, Fatima Killeen, Katsushige Nakahashi, William Yang, The Culture Kitchen & Osme Gonsalves, Deni Pancatriana and  the Burma Artists group
    
   6.30 Drill Hall Gallery ANU opened the Hon Bob McMullan MP
   (Artists: Dadang Christanto, Julie Dowling, Jannene Eaton, Janet Laurence)
    
 The dual exhibitions are the fourth in a series under the theme Art and Human Rights and are part of an ongoing research project at the Research School of Humanities. The exhibitions coincide with a major international conference also entitled Recovering Lives at the Research School of Humanities and National Museum of Australia 6-8 August 2008.
