This paper explores how the 'development enterprise' in Timor Leste is (mis)recognizing the potential of existing governance mechanisms within local customary institutions in relation to water supply and management.
Panel of discussants: John McCarthy, Senior Lecturer, Environmental Management and Development Program, Crawford School of Economics and Government; Pyone Myat Thu, PhD Scholar, Department of Human Geography, RSPAS; Aderito Soares, PhD Scholar, Centre for International Governance and Justice, RegNet, RSPAS. Speakers will introduce their paper for 30 minutes. This will be followed by presentations from the discussants, with one hour left for open discussion.
