[TimorLesteStudies] 3rd Gendering Asia Conference: Helsinki 2009

Bu Wilson Bu.Wilson at anu.edu.au
Wed Feb 4 10:18:53 EST 2009

CALL FOR PAPERS FOR CONFERENCE

The conference seeks to address issues in contemporary Asia arising from the
increase in gendered mobility in border crossings in such locations as
national/transnational, public/private, and the categories of ethnicity,
class and sexuality. More specifically, some of the manifestations of this
mobility include the trans-nationalization of care, nursing and household
work, women's growing participation in the military, various movements
conducted by ethnic minorities and former colonial subjects, and the
emergence of trans-sexual bodies and identities.
