Title: Violation of the Rule of Law and Criminal Justice in East Timor
Author: Sayan Majumdar
Citation: 2009 ETLJ 3

Extract: *The very first section of the Constitution of East Timor relies
heavily on the state being based upon principles of the rule of law.
However, violations are committed by the President blatantly, forgetting all
concepts of rule of law or the separation of the powers of the state as
envisioned under the auspicious Constitution of East Timor. It is also sad
to state that no action is taken against the president for this action to
discredit the justice system of the country.*
