The Australian Government via the Dept of Education, Employment and
Workplace Relations (DEEWR) provides opportunities under their Endeavour
Awards for high achieving students, researchers and professionals to
undertake study and professional development in participating countries in
the Asia-Pacific and Middle East -
http://www.endeavour.deewr.gov.au/Australian_applicants/default.htm
Whilst the awards are available to both Australian (including permanent
residents) and international applicants, the information contained below
focuses on two fellowships for Australian postgraduate students (MA and PhD)
and postdoctoral fellows:
1. Endeavour Research Fellowships
2. Endeavour Cheung Kong Fellowships
The awards provide opportunities for researchers to undertake short-term
research (4-6 months) in any field of study in participating countries - see
below. The total award amount is AUD $23,500.
You may wish to recommend this opportunity to postgraduate students you
teach or supervise, or you may as a postdoctoral fellow wish to apply. I
have also included Chairs of departments in case they are also aware of
potential candidates in their respective departments.
Applications close in 31st July 2009 for funding in 2010.
If you wish to nominate an international student please direct enquiries to
the Peter Dodd, Director, International Projects, pdodd at usyd.edu.au
