This chapter highlights some of the major developments in Chinese
peacekeeping activities, providing a broad descriptive and comparative
overview. Second, it looks into the current debate, motivations and
decision-making processes behind the People's Liberation Army (PLA)
expanding engagement in UN peacekeeping activities. The chapter concludes
with a number of implications and recommendations which emerge from the
analysis, with a focus on US-China relations.
