We, Nippon Koei Co., Ltd which has been providing consultancy services
for the projects under official development assistance, are currently
planning to implement a project in East Timor.

The project titled "Capacity Development Project on Sustainable
Watershed Management" and funded by Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA) will be implemented between January 2010 and October 2015.

Currently, we are looking for the local staff who can work with us as a
secretary during the project period.

Job Announcement
・Position Title: Local coordinator

・Employment Period: On-demand basis. Total employment period is estimated as 6.9 month between February 2011 and March 2012. The initial 3 weeks will be considered as the probationary period.

・Salary: 750 USD/month with the payment for overtime and travel allowance

・Duties:
Under the overall guidance of Chief Advisor of the captioned project, and the direct supervision of Co-Chief Advisor of the same, the incumbent will assist the JICA Project Team in monitoring and implementing field surveys and micro projects in the field in cooperation with local NGOs as well asMinistry of Agriculture and Fisheries. Specifically, the incumbent will:
-Interpret for Japanese experts of the JICA Project Team;
-Translate documents from English to Tetun and from Tetun to English;
-Take notes at meetings/discussions at the villages and develop minutes of meetings;
-Monitor field activities, such as field survey, micro project, and workshops, which will be undertaken by local NGOs;
-Assist the Japanese experts in conducts of training courses for the government staff;
-Assist the Japanese experts in collection of data and information in coordination with government offices, donor-funded projects, and other international/national organizations;
-Communicate with the relevant government offices (NDF, other directorates of MAF, and district MAF office); and
-Perform other duties as required.

・Job knowledge, skills and abilities:
-At least 5 years of working experience in community development and/or natural resource management.
-Fluency in English both in speaking and writing
-Ability in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power point)

・Remarks: Project office will be located in Dili and the workshops will be held at the communities of Aileu district within the area of day trips from Dili.
