Nadel Essay Prize

The  Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology announces the Nadel Essay Prize  for an original article submitted to the journal by an early career  researcher. Papers are invited on social and cultural anthropology  relating to the Asia Pacific region, including Australia. The annual  prize has been named after S.F. Nadel, who was appointed Foundation  Professor of Anthropology at The Australian National University in 1951.  In 2011 the ANU is celebrating 60 years of Anthropology and the prize  has been inaugurated as part of the celebration.

The Prize

The  winner of the prize will be announced in November 2011 on the journal’s  website. The winning essay will be published in the journal. In  addition, the winner will receive a prize of £150, a year’s subscription  to the journal and promotion on the journal’s website.

Word limit: 6000 words

Closing date for submissions: 30 June 2011
