Dear VLGA members and friends, and friends / supporters of Timor-Leste
The Working together with Timor-Leste: the next 10 years conference and expo has been rescheduled to Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July 2014.
The Timor-Leste Ministry of State Administration (through the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet) has advised that many key people, including Secretary of State for Decentralisation, Tomas Cabral, and Directors-General Abilio Carvalho, and Miguel Caetano, will now be assisting with in the Guinea-Bissau presidential election on 16 March. We have also been advised that the President is longer available to speak at the conference. This makes the original conference date no longer suitable.
We know that the Working together with Timor-Leste conference is important to the Timor-Leste Government, and that moving the conference to July will allow key people to attend and participate. We are glad that we have been able to accommodate the Government’s request.
We are also pleased to confirm that Sr Agio Pereira, Minister of State and President of the Council of Ministers will be our keynote speaker at the conference.
We apologise for any inconvenience this change of date may cause.
If you have purchased a dinner/conference ticket, this will be automatically refunded in full. Tickets for the July conference are now available for purchase<http://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/working-together-with-timor-leste-the-next-10-years-conference-and-expo-tickets-8986257137>.
Earlybird tickets are on sale until 4pm on Wednesday 30 April. For re-registration, please visit http://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/working-together-with-timor-leste-the-next-10-years-conference-and-expo-tickets-8986257137
We have also taken on board your feedback and can advise that members of Friendship groups may purchase a ticket at the Individual rate and those who hold a valid concession card may purchase a Concession rate ticket.
If you have already registered for a stall at the expo, that registration will be transferred to the new dates, unless we hear otherwise from you.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you in July for a successful and engaging conference.
If you have any questions, please email vlga at vlga.org.au
