Dili Institute of Technology is pleased to announce that it has several new
resources on its website www.tetundit.tl:
. Williams-van Klinken, Catharina, Ribeiro, Leoneto da Silva, & Tilman,
Cesaltina Martins. (2015). Tetun ba eskola ho servisu 1 [Tetun for school
and work 1]. Dili: Dili Institute of Technology.
This book is the first of a series of three written for teaching Tetun
writing skills and study skills at university. Chapters cover the the
history of Tetun, principles of spelling, goal-setting, formal and informal
speech, showing time relationships between clauses, writing narratives,
looking for information, taking notes from written and spoken texts, and
writing summaries and descriptions.
. new editions of all major publications, reflecting a minor spelling
revision. In the past, we spelled Portuguese 'nh' and 'lh' using 'ny' and
'ly' (e.g. ilya 'island'), to avoid confusion with Tetun's own 'nh' sequence
(mainly in bainhira 'when'). We now follow the Portuguese spelling of this
sound (e.g. ilha).
There is also information on Tetun courses for expatriates, including the
schedule for the coming months.
