John Waddingham, founder of CHART, the Clearing House on Archival Records on Timor. He is making his annual visit to Timor-Leste to check on how develoment of archives is going on. In particular he is interested in the and readiness of institutions in Timor-Leste to receive more materials from Australia and other countries that were created/received during the years 1974-1999 and which need to be added to what Timor-Leste already has here.
He and archivists working here will talk about progress in making records available, digitization projects and how students and researchers can access material on many aspects of TImor-Leste;s recent histor

The office of the Pro-Rector International Co-operation invites you, your colleages and your research students to attend this seminar and discussion on archives in Timor-Leste, where materials can be found and how co-
operation is proceeding to bring more archival material back to Timor-Leste.  His invitation is attached.  Many of you will know John, a regular attender at the TLSA Conferences.

The seminar is on Thursday 17th March, at 4.00pm in the Auditorium of Campus Liceu.
