ACTION ALERT Timor-Leste COVID-19 Emergency Appeal

PLEASE DONATE TODAY

Dear Friends of Timor-Leste,

We have been contacted by NGOs and health professionals assisting Timor-Leste with the COVID-19 response seeking help from the Australia solidarity network to secure medical equipment and other critical supplies. Timorese infectious diseases expert, Dr Danina Coelho, advises that health practitioners urgently need these supplies to test for COVID-19 and treat those who contract the virus.

As you will appreciate, the Timorese health system is ill equipped to deal with this pandemic without support from the outside world. The Timorese government is working to secure support from the Australian government among others including some international agencies. Despite this, our solidarity assistance is urgently needed now to support the fight against this virus through the purchase of equipment and transport it to Timor-Leste.

We have undertaken to alert our networks, collect donations and make transfers to the NGOs (including Maluk Timor and xpand Foundation) to manage the purchasing and transport of supplies. All donations go directly towards buying and / or transporting COVID-19 medical aid to Timor-Leste. Our target is to raise $30000.00 for PPE and other items such as soap and hand sanitisers by 31 May 2020.

Dear Friends
See attached letter, in pdf and doc form, appealing for funds for PPE etc for TL. We organised this in direct response to a request from TL.
We have sourced some PPE today, so, as soon as we get the funds in, we’ll get it there. I’m hoping you can help circulate this to potential donors in your networks
Many thanks
Bob & Deborah
