The Sydney Centre for the Foundations of Science is a new  
interdisciplinary research centre within the University of Sydney.  
The centre has been established to bring together world class  
academics from the University of Sydney specialising in the logical,  
philosophical and historical underpinnings of science and medicine.

The centre will be launched by Dr Ann Moyal AM and will host an  
inaugural lecture by Professor Brian Skyrms (University of  
California). During the event the Australasian Association of  
Philosophy will present its annual Media Awards, recognising  
journalistic contributions to the promotion of philosophy in the  
public sphere.
