ANNOUNCING

?Asia-Pacific STS Network Conference 20009: Our Lands, Our Waters, Our 
Peoples?
23-25 November 2009, Griffith University (Southbank campus), Brisbane, 
Australia

This preliminary announcement will be followed in the near future with the 
URL of the conference website and more detail. 

This inaugural annual meeting of the new Asia‐Pacific Science, Technology 
& Society Network will focus on STS research and practice in the region. A 
special feature is a focus on environmental and on indigenous themes, as 
well as the body (eg, red life sciences, forensic DNA technologies), and 
community (eg, inclusive governance, public engagement, citizenship). 
Papers on these themes and other STS research in the region, including 
methodological innovations are welcome.

Dear Colleagues,

We look forward to your interest and participation in this conference, 
which is at a lovely time of the year in Brisbane, on the popular South 
Bank part of town next to the river. The conference will also feature a 
Welcome to County and indigenous dance performance at both the opening and 
closing ceremonies, and promises a wide diversity of participants from 
Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, as 
well as other international scholar's with a focus on STS research in the 
Asia-Pacific region..
