California San Francisco, will be visiting the University of Sydney in

teaching grounded theory since 1980. She is also well-known for her
social, cultural, and historical studies of science, technology, and
medicine, including work on biomedicalization and on common medical
technologies pertinent to women's health such as contraception and the Pap
smear.
During her visit, Professor Clarke will be teaching a 1-day introductory
workshop (July 20th) and a 1-day Master Class (July 21st) on Situational
Analysis, her innovative methodological development of the grounded theory
tradition. Numbers for these events are strictly limited.
Professor Clarke will also be giving a free public lecture on July 23rd
entitled "From the Rise of Medicine to Biomedicalization: U.S.
Healthscapes c1890-Present with Global Implications," with introduction by
