Gondwanaland, Deep Time, and the Geopolitics of Belonging

Alison Bashford is Scientia Professor in History and Director of the Laureate Center for History and Population at University of South Wales Sydney. Her work centers on the intersection between the history of international, global, and geopolitical thought, environmental history, and history of science. Her works include Global Population: History, Geopolitics and Life on Earth (Columbia University, 2014), Quarantine (Macmillan Education, 2017), and The Huxleys: An Intimate History of Evolution (University of Chicago Press, 2022).

In this upcoming lecture, Alison will discuss her ongoing research around Gondwanaland<https://gloknos.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0531e24c8b5026c7265113d92&id=577b6983cb&e=e5dfd81d13>, which is part of an international collaborative effort of writing the modern history of this ancient megacontinent.
