Dear IMC list serv

Well, Trump’s back and Bayesian inference missed the mark again. But we’ve interpretive methods with which to understand and explain phenomena like the politics of resentment that deliver office to misogynists and racists — in the US and elsewhere. So for those of you going to the Australian Political Studies Association meeting in Perth this November, isn’t now the best time to join us for one or more in a suite of activities planned to help you think about, and improve, your interpretive research designs?

Those activities begin on the Monday with a session on interpretive research at the PhD symposium. Then on Tuesday we have the first meeting of our newly formed Interpretive Methods Research Group. And on Thursday we have a special panel on interpretive research in Australia. There are also a number of other great paper presentations on interpretive research (though wouldn’t you know it, some of them fall in the same slot on the schedule as the panel). And of course we’d be keen to meet and talk at any point throughout the conference.

Check out the attachment for all the details, pass them on to anyone who might be interested, and get in touch if you have questions. We hope to see you there!

Nick
