The Interpretive Policy Analysis Conference is back — and we are delighted to now announce the Australia–New Zealand–Asia-Pacific edition of IPA 2026.

For many years, the IPA conference has been an important intellectual home for critical and interpretive policy scholars — a space for thoughtful dialogue, reflexive engagement, methodological experimentation, and genuine community-building. After a long pause, it is wonderful to see this community gathering again in a new global format.

The 14th IPA Conference is organised through three interconnected regional events across the globe:
-IPA2026BR (South America, Brazil)
-IPA2026OC (Oceania, Australia)
-IPA2027EU (Europe)

Together, these events aim to renew critical dialogue, strengthen collaboration, and expand the reach and diversity of interpretive policy scholarship in a world facing profound social, political, and environmental challenges.

We are very pleased to announce that the Australia–New Zealand–Asia-Pacific edition will take place at Deakin University’s Waterfront Campus in Geelong, Australia, on 26–27 November 2026, immediately following the APSA Conference.

The conference is jointly organised by the Critical and Interpretive Policy Network<https://www.linkedin.com/in/critical-and-interpretive-policy-network-4324a1314/>, the Critical Policy Studies Network<https://www.linkedin.com/company/critical-policy-studies-network/> of the International Public Policy Association<https://www.linkedin.com/company/international-public-policy-association/>, the Centre for Deliberative Democracy<https://www.linkedin.com/company/centre-for-deliberative-democracy-and-global-governance/> in collaboration with the APSA Interpretive Methods Research Group.
