<span style="font-family: HelveticaNeue-Light;">Dear IMC listserv members</span>
<div style="font-family: HelveticaNeue-Light;"><br>
</div>
<div style="font-family: HelveticaNeue-Light;">Are you an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident, or do you know one interested to do a PhD at an Australian university? Then you or they will likely be eligible for an Australian
government domestic scholarship for remission of fees and for an annual untaxed stipend to support your study (in 2025, AUD33,500). These scholarships are not guaranteed, but our experience at the ANU is that domestic students who meet the eligibility requirements
for a PhD program of study and are offered a place tend to get the Australian government scholarship as well. </div>
<div style="font-family: HelveticaNeue-Light;"><br>
</div>
<div style="font-family: HelveticaNeue-Light;">I’ve had it drawn to my attention that there is still time before the cut-off date of <u>30 September</u> for applications to be admitted at the ANU in 2026. If you or anyone you know is interested and qualified
to do a degree in political science, international relations, public policy or politics in Asia or the Pacific using interpretivist methods then you can contact myself or April Biccum about it. We are alone in Australia (and to our knowledge the southern hemisphere)
in offering specialised postgraduate coursework in these methods, alongside a suite of other activities (seminars, workshops) that will deliver the training you need to be conversant and adept in interpretive political science. The ANU also has experts across
a range of other methods and areas that can complement what our network brings. If we are not the right people for you to talk to, we’ll refer you to somebody else who is. </div>

</div>
<div style="font-family: HelveticaNeue-Light;">If you do have an interest or know somebody who might, check out the relevant information first, ask the admissions office, and get in touch if you want to have a discussion. The University’s general admissions
page is here: https://study.anu.edu.au/apply/postgraduate-research; SPIR’s (where April is located) is here: https://politicsir.cass.anu.edu.au/hdr-program; and my own Department’s is here: <a href="https://bellschool.anu.edu.au/psc/study-us-psc/higer-degree-research-psc">https://bellschool.anu.edu.au/psc/study-us-psc/higer-degree-research-psc</a> </div>
