... has been set up (in Chicago). For those of you who have already contacted me, there's no need to respond to this message. For those who have not yet responded, if I do not hear from you now, adios! I envision this project as serving my purpose of having on-the-ground information available, which I cannot get from US newspapers, when they report/misreport events in Kosovo. One of the reasons I have come to Kosovo, for six times now (5 PSU's and 1 independence visit), is that most US citizens are unfortunately clueless about even the most obvious matters---like what the term "Muslim" means/does not mean. With your help, I can help, re how to address Kosovo issues in the US.
I've always thought of this project being mostly for my P.S.U. grads, and thus the name "kosovokids" (which is all you would have to place in the "To" line, when you wish to post a message to all members). However, I may have cause to expand the membership to other Kosovo-focused individuals because of some work that I'm planning. But if no one objects, i.e., the non-student members, I will stick with the listserv address "kosovokids."
If you have already advised me of your interest in participating, there is no need to respond to this message---unless you have a problem with my naming of this group. There are, of course, no "kids," but we professors in the US tend to refer to our class members as "kids," although they are all adults. So no condescending intent here---this is just my way of "adopting" my PSU students as my "kids."
After you have this last opportunity to participate ("lurkers" are welcome), I will subscribe interested members & you will receive a welcome message from the listserv headquarters.
Regards,
ProSlo
