John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a senior college of the City
University of New York (CUNY), is an internationally recognized leader in
educating for justice, committed to the advancement of justice and just
societies. It is a public liberal arts college that enriches the entire
learning experience by highlighting themes of justice across the arts,
sciences, humanities, and social sciences. Located steps from Lincoln Center

masters degrees and participates in the doctoral programs of the Graduate
School of the City University of New York. John Jay College is also
recognized for serving a broadly diverse student population. Under the
leadership of its fourth president, Jeremy Travis, John Jay College has

offerings, and the opening in 2011 of a new 600,000 square foot building
complete with a black-box theatre, state-of-the-art lab space for students
and faculty, a moot courtroom, and a variety of virtual learning settings.

John Jay College of Criminal Justice invites social scientists in the
inter-disciplinary field of international criminal justice (ICJ) to apply
for a tenure-track appointment to teach in the B.A. and M.A. programs in ICJ
and in a department to be determined by the candidate's Ph.D. or area of
research. (Possible home departments include Criminal Justice, Law, Police
Science and Criminal Justice Administration, Sociology and Political
Science, as well as Economics, Anthropology, Africana Studies and Latino/a
Studies). Suitable candidates with all topical and regional specializations
are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach core courses in
the B.A. and M.A. programs, including research methods courses, and will
bring to John Jay an active research agenda and enthusiasm for and
commitment to teaching.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below. Also
required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive
scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others
for the good of the institution.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- ABD applicants will be considered (doctoral degree is required at time of
appointment). JDs are insufficient.
COMPENSATION
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
