Dear colleagues,
I am writing on behalf of a colleague ¨C Ms. Negin Mohtadi ¨C who is interested in the situation of Lake Urmia (Oroumieh) in Northwestern Iran, the world¡¯s 3rd largest salt lake and the largest in the Middle East. The lake is designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a ¡°wetland of international importance¡± under the RAMSAR convention. Negin is interested in obtaining data and information about the condition of the lake, its relevance to the surrounding communities, and how the country is addressing the drying up of the lake. She is also interested in making contact with researchers working on these and related issues. Please feel free to respond to Negin directly at nmostaghim4 at gmail.com<mailto:nmostaghim4 at gmail.com>.

Many thanks, and best regards.
