We would like to draw your attention and invite you to attend the Second International Symposium for Environment Judges: 'Environmental Adjudication in the 21st Century', to be held on 11th and 12th April 2017 in Auckland, New Zealand. 


The Symposium is generously supported by the Royal Society of New Zealand and the University of Otago, and brings together international experts on environmental adjudication to discuss and debate the challenges for environmental adjudication in the coming decades.  We are delighted to announce that the keynote speeches will be given by Lord Carnwath, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, and Professor George ‘Rock’ Pring and Catherine ‘Kitty’ Pring, University of Denver, Environment Courts and Tribunals Study. The plenary session on 11th April will be held at 'The Pullman Hotel', cnr Princes Street and Waterloo Quadrant, Auckland and the list of speakers includes:

Registration for the plenary session on 11th April 2017 is available via the Environmental-Adjudication.org website (https://www.environmental-adjudication.org).  Alternatively, participants may contact the administrative team at the University of Otago and request to be invoiced (please contact Melanie Black on melanie.black at otago.ac.nz). The conference fee is NZ$250 (and includes morning and afternoon tea, and lunch).  

A workshop will be held at the Environment Court of New Zealand, Auckland, on 12th April 2017 for invited participants only. The workshop will facilitate an intense dialogue between adjudicators and academic experts, and lay the basis for a forthcoming publication.
