Guys, guys, stop already!!!

The letter went to *thousands* of people across the world. The person(s)
responsible obviously garnered addresses from every newsgroup around using
some sort of bot and probably automated who requests at every majordomo,
listserv and listproc that would respond.

You are not going to work out which list it was you have in common, because
it doesn't matter. Thousands of lists and thousands of newssgroups were
targetted. That's why the above person got it twice. Maybe the
perpetrator's goal was to slow down every list and newssgroup in existence
while everybody discussed the spam. S/he succeeded :)
