<Null> means ... well ... null, i.e. 'infer from this at your peril'.
Better would be some designated standard, such that assistive
technology will be able to differentiate irrelevant elements from
undescribed elements.
I suggest the reserved term / meta-symbol 'Eye Candy'. (:-)}
