Hi Tony and fellow linkers,
A few useful ontopic issues came out of this discussion (and a bit of
surprising convergence for me -governance - ict - waste reduction) -
could I add these as I think there may be a few on this list who can
shed light on this.
-on the RFID issue my understanding is that stuff is being manufactured
with RFIDs
-Walmart amontst others are using RFID to reengineer their whole process
chain
-When Ryde Council bought new rubbish bins on behalf of their residents
(as did Leichhardt Council recently, with an argument about health and
safety issues) did they know there was an RFID in the bins
-Is this being linked into their systems (Roger alert)
-I am guessing, but I think Ryde council probably encompasses the
technology park/macquarie university - so there are businesses and
residents - also the NSW Government is amalgamating councils which has
already produced some interesting politics.
-As a past owner of a unit in Perth, I was surprised at the frequency of
correspondence from Real Estate Agents offering to sell my property(for
the record it has been sold and the unsolicited mail has stopped).
